Monster High: Dead Tired Ghoulia

Sweet Dead Tired Ghoulia was my first Monster High doll, and she was bought from our local Citymarket almost a year ago. I pondering should I buy the baseline Ghoulia or Dead Tired version, but because DT was cheaper, I ended up with it. I also remember thinking that this will be my only doll. Yeah, right :D

Anyway, originally she had "a bit" silkier and shinier hair, but after some experiments with braiding, curling and hot water, her hair is a total mess now.

Ghoulia's original hair

Her brainpops also happened to land in my coffee cup at some point...

I think Ghoulia is awfully pretty (haven't watched the show, so I really don't know anything about the character), and DT doll is no exception.
What I like in this doll:
- the outfit - tiny blood drops are always cute ;D
- her face - makeup is nice

What I don't like:
- My version is a bit loose limbed, but I guess that's OK because she's a zombie after all

And her cute red slippers:

Monster High: Ghouls Rule Cleo

My first Cleo was bought from Finnish store Stockmann.
I didn't really like other dolls from Ghouls Rule (Clawdeen or Frankie), so I ended to buy Cleo.

What I like in this doll:
- I like the shorter hair
- The upper part of the dress - it fits really well
- The necklace with long fabric pieces - though it doesn't always stay as I want
- Her lips, I love the golden glitters

What I don't like:
- Lower part of the dress - the turquoise metallic parts just don't look good. They won't stay put, no matter how hard  I try

And her shoes are amazing, I adore the snakes around the ankles:

Monster High: Operetta's new clothes part I

I know I still haven't posted about DDG Operetta, but I wanted to share the outfit I made for her.
The dress is originally a barbie-sized dress from Finnish store Saiturin Pörssi, and as soon as I saw this spider web -themed dress, I thought of Operetta.
I made the dress smaller, added black ribbon to the waist, and did a small scarf to add more elegance to the result.

Monster High: Sweet 1600 Frankie

Origianlly I didn't plan to buy any of Sweet 1600 dolls, but when Finnish store Citymarket had them on sale, Frankie's pretty face won me over.

What I like in Sweet 1600 Frankie:
- Her face. I love the dark red lips and quite subtle makeup.
- Jewellery - bracelets an earrings are really cool looking, they are made to look like stitches (or zippers, like my first though was).
- Hair-do - simple, yet elegant.

What I don't like:
- The dress. First of all, it doesn't fill well (might be just my doll's problem), itäs really hard to get it to work with the stand. Second, the design of the dress. I donät really get it.  Why does it need to be puffy on the otherside, so that that the underskirt shows?
- The bag. Horrible little thing. It's supposed to look like a lightning bolt, but it's so cheap that it looks like a handkerchief.

Her shoes are cool, they are "stiched together" from pieces:

Monster High: C.A. Cupid

I ordered my Cupid from coolshop.com's webshop, and when opening the package I found out that she had some paint flaws:
AS you can clearly see, her eyes aren't the same size at all, giving her a really derp-her-durrr-hurrr -look. As much as I wanted all my "real" dolls to be untouched (not repainted or rerooted or anything), I just couldn't stand her face.
FIrst I tried to repaint her by myself, but my criterias were way too high for myself, and I decided to ask some help from my very artistic friend Athene Nocturna.

She had never painted a doll before, but my trust in her artistic skills was so high that I gave it to her anyway.
Here's her pics from the painting process:

As I expected, she did terrific job!

Things I like in Cupid:
- Her hands and legs - I love the gradient black, and the mesh texture look cool too.
- Her wings  -ribcage wings, who could NOT love them?!
- Her ring - awesome little detail!
- Hair - I like that it's quite short.

Things I don't like in (original )Cupid:
- The thing in the top of her head - What is it, an antenna?
- (Original) Lips. I know what they're supposed to be, but the execution is weak. I'm sure they could paint better heart-shaped lips for her at factory.

Her shoes:

Monster High: Venus McFlytrap

Venus came from Toys'r'Us webshop. Luckily she had no flaws, so there's no need to re-paint or return her.

I like her face and clothes, but I'm not a fan of that horrible-looking bag she has. Sure it's supposed to be ecological, recycled baggie, but I think something plant-themed would've worked better.
I'm also not sure about her lips, is she supposed to have both upper and lower fangs, or are they some weird shinespots?
But her hands are nice and freaky, and the wines are awesome.

I also love her shoes:
They'll nom you!
