MLP Custom: Books/ Library pony

Yesterday I finished my latest custom, baby pony inspired by book/ library / reading.

Originally she was a G1 Baby Surprise, but she had several neon spots, hair loss and small plastic damage, so I decided to give her a new life.

Books have always been close to my heart and currently work at the library, so this theme was pretty obvious.

I started making this pony by destroying a book. Yes. I DESTROYED A BOOK. And it was horrible. Trust me. H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E.
I ripped few pages off from Charlaine Harris's Dead Until Dark soft cover, painted the pony white, and then started to glue small pieces of paper on the pony.
When I had covered the pony, I added slightly glossy sealant.

Then I added hair (Dolly Hair Black Magick), I actually had to make new holes for hair, because there was already paper covering the previous holes.

Finally I added the small stack of books I made from Fimo, and painted to look more like the real deal:

What I used:
Acrylic paints
Fimo polymer clay
Dolly Hair My Little Pony Nylon Hair - Black Magick
G1 Baby Surprise
Pages of books

MLP Custom: Head Hunter Store

Let's see if I can start blogging of all my toys, especially the customs I make.
Here we go!

Latest custom first.
This pony was made as a gift for the owner of Head Hunter Store, Dean. He makes cool custom toys and sculptures and stuff, and I thought that it would be kinda fun for him to get something, instead him always doing stuff for others.

Head Hunter Store has a wide selection of vintage and modern toys and collectibles, as well as all kinds of stuff from sci-fi, horror and games. Long story short, awesome place:
So.. much.. stuff.. (Images from Facebook/HeadHunter Store
I had few G4 Twilight Sparkle My Little Ponies waiting to be customized, so that was an easy choice as a base. I originally though I would make the pony all white, but ended up painting it black.

I wanted the custom to have the Head Hunter Store's logo as a "cutie mark", but the pony clearly needed also something else.
I had previously done Predator/Alien custom pony with a facehugger, and it turned out pretty well, so I decided to take a "safe route" and do another facehugger, this time I just put it on pony's head, not on it's back like I did last time.

Hair was a bit of a problem.
I wanted to use black for the custom's tail, but unfortunately I had none left. Color choices were pale purple, orange or pink. Or the really deep green I ended up using. I wasn't really happy about it, so I added some metal string around the tail, hoping that nobody notices how ugly the color actually is :D

Here's the pony:
